Lecture Honors Bowdoin Professor Emeritus

BRUNSWICK, Maine -- Bowdoin College professor emeritus William
D. Geoghegan of Brunswick will be honored with a public lecture
on "Jungian Psychology and Human Spirituality" on Friday, October
24, at 7:30 p.m. at State Street Church, 159 State St., Portland.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
Lecturers will be Ann Belford Ulanov, a Jungian analyst in private
practice; Christiane Brooks Johnson, professor of psychiatry and
religion at Union Theological Seminary; and Barry Ulanov, MacIntosh
Professor of English Emeritus at Barnard College and lecturer
in psychology and religion at Union.
A follow-up workshop will be held in Main Lounge, Moulton Union,
Bowdoin College, on Saturday, October 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 1
Professor Geoghegan is being honored for his contributions to
a greater understanding of religion and depth psychology in higher
educational and community life. He is the founder of the Bowdoin
College Jung Seminar and a founding member of the Brunswick Jung
Center and served as a member of its Board of Directors during
its formative years.
The lecture is being co-sponsored by the Brunswick Jung Center
and Bangor Theological Seminary, where Professor Geoghegan has
also taught courses.
