  • 12/3/2013 | 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM
  • Location: Studzinski Recital Hall, Kanbar Auditorium
  • Event Type: Concert

Hanni Haynes presents performances of several twentieth-century works for viola. As a renowned violist himself, Paul Hindemith's familiarity with the instrument's unique tone inspired him to compose some of the finest pieces for viola, including Sonata Op.11, No. 4.Darius Milhaud's Sonata No. 1 Op. 240 is a quirky combination of neoclassical baroque style dance movements with a modern piano accompaniment. Also to beperformed is Igor Stravinsky's Elegie for solo viola. This will be an exciting opportunity to appreciate the sound of a rarely featured instrument.
