Family Weekend Faculty Presentation: Abigail Killeen, Assistant Professor of Theater and Dance
- 9/29/2012 |
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: Memorial Hall, 108, Libra Theater Studio
Event Type: Presentation
In this workshop, participants will examine some of Shakespeare's most famous speeches, dissecting each for the hidden acting clues the author included for performance. Once identified, participants will work at their own skill level to translate those clues into the body and voice. By bringing the text off the page and into performance, participants will begin to learn, as Hamlet implores the actors, to "suit the action to the word and the word to the action." (Hamlet, 3.2.15)
