Revealing Mediterranean Women

This exhibition explores and critiques European visions of Mediterranean women as powerful, monstrous, seductive, or exotic in art from Ancient Greece through Picasso. Organized in collaboration with faculty from the Mediterranean Studies Humanities Initiative at Bowdoin College.

Gallery Conversation: Revealing Mediterranean Women
Susan Wegner, associate professor of art history, and Davida Gavioli, senior lecturer in Italian, will lead an interdisciplinary conversation about select works in the exhibition Revealing Mediterranean Women.
