Maine Day

Monday, September 17th, 2018

A program dedicated to Maine high school seniors.

Whether you’re from five minutes or five hours away, you might be surprised to learn that everything you want in a college—and more— is right here in Brunswick.

Meet students from all over Maine and all over the world. Attend a class. Have lunch in the dining hall. Learn about applying to and paying for Bowdoin. Ask lots of questions. Join our community for the day to experience it for yourself.

Maine day registration has closed.

A limited number of on-campus interviews with a Bowdoin senior or staff member are available throughout the day. Students with an 8:45am interview should check-in directly at Maine Day registration in Studzinski Recital Hall. Students with 2:30pm or 3:30pm interviews should report to the Admissions Office 5-10 minutes before their interview time.

A personal interview is strongly encouraged, but not required within the admissions process. Interviews are designed to be a give-and-take: the interviewer will guide the course of the conversation, but there will be plenty of time for you to ask questions about Bowdoin as well.

Student Aid

Maine Day is a great opportunity to ask lots of questions about paying for college. In addition to the Student Aid Presentation, drop-in individual appointments with a student aid officer are available from 2:30pm – 5:00pm in Ashby House. Additionally, the Office of Student Aid is open from 8:30am – 5:00pm Monday-Friday and welcomes visitors anytime.

Overnight Visits

An overnight visit is a great way to experience life at Bowdoin first-hand -- and is a convenient option for students traveling long distances. Please note that we have a limited number of overnight visits available for the night of Sunday, September, 16th. Overnight visits are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis through Maine Day registration.

Parking is available in the parking lot beside the Admissions Office. If this lot is full, you may park at any of the following locations: North Campus Drive (off of Bath Road), South Campus Drive (off of College Street), Coffin Street Parking Lot, Dayton Lot (off of Sills Drive) and Russwurm House Parking Lot (just east of Tower Drive). Parking lots designated for faculty and staff are also available to visitors.

Additional parking is available in the Farley Field House lot: Take College Street to Coffin Street and make a right onto Coffin. Take that to Longfellow Ave. and make a left onto Longfellow. Go one block and make a right onto Harpswell Rd., turning right, almost immediately into the Farley Fieldhouse parking lot. Additional parking may also be available on Park Row, an access road that parallels upper Maine Street beside the College; please take note of the two-hour parking limit in certain sections. If you park here or in areas adjacent to the College, please park with the flow of traffic.

Note: Please do not park in the following areas: handicapped spaces unless applicable, emergency vehicle spots, or fire lanes. If you have questions about parking, call the Security Office at (207) 725-3314.
