BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College Athletic Department announced their end-of-year honors at the annual All-Sports Banquet on Saturday evening, May 10.
The National Championship-winning field hockey squad had three athletes honored for their excellence, including Valerie Young '08 (Concord, N.H.), who claimed the Lucy L. Shulman Award for Outstanding Female Athlete. Outstanding Male Athlete honors went to men's soccer player Nick Figueiredo '08 (Wilmington, Mass.).
A pair of athletes were honored with the Sidney J. Watson Award, honoring the school's top multi-sport senior athletes. Bobbi Dennison '08 (Freeport, Maine), a women's soccer and lacrosse player, and Brendan Egan '08 (Westfield, N.J.), a men's soccer and track athlete, were both recognized with the distinction.
