Bowdoin UB Celebrates 50 years
In September 2015, Upward Bound launched a year-long celebration of it's long history at Bowdoin. For 50 years, Bowdoin UB has been helping promising, first-generation college bound, low-income Maine students in achieving their dream of a college education. Doris Vladimiroff Endowment Fund:
Celebrating 50 years of Upward Bound and the legacy of founding director Dory Vladimiroff, an endowed fund has been created to provide emergency assistance to current participants and graduating seniors so that they can focus on their education. The fund helps cover such basic, often unanticipated, needs as eyeglasses, footwear, textbooks, calculators, clothing, meals, healthcare and transportation.
