Off-Campus Resources

While many students choose to use on campus resources there is a wide variety of off campus resources that are available both in an emergency or for long term support. Some of the organizations that follow are local while some are national should you need help please reach out to one of them.

Brunswick Police Department

Contact: 911, non-emergencies 207-725-5521, 85 Pleasant Street

The police department can receive and investigate reports of sexual violence.

Mid-Coast Hospital

Contact: 911, non-emergencies 207-373-6000, 123 Medical Center Drive

Mid-Coast Hospital can test for STDs, HIV, pregnancy and injury, as well as do a general wellness check. Hospitals can also, at the survivor’s request, collect forensic evidence to use in filing a police report (also known as a "rape kit"). If a survivor is thinking of having evidence collected, they should try to not shower, go to the bathroom, eat, drink or brush teeth in order to best preserve the evidence. If the survivor feels s/he must change clothes, try to place each article of clothing in an individual paper bag.
