What is the Alumni Fund?
The Alumni Fund impacts the Bowdoin experience every day. Composed of annual gifts from alumni designated for current use, the Alumni Fund augments and supports the lives of every student on campus. During fiscal year 2014 alone, an impressive 59.3% of alumni raised nearly $8.9 million – a remarkable investment in today’s exceptional students and faculty.
How Does Bowdoin Use the Funds?
The Alumni Fund bolsters all areas of Bowdoin’s annual operating budget. One clear example of your gift at work? Gifts to the Alumni Fund comprise $2,402 of the average $40,025 grant received by nearly half of Bowdoin students. Your gift to the Alumni Fund ensures that a Bowdoin education remains accessible to the most talented students in the world.
Direct Your Gift
Unrestricted gifts to the Alumni Fund allow Bowdoin to most effectively underwrite teaching and learning. But if one aspect of the Bowdoin experience is especially important to you, we invite you to designate your gift to that area.
Support current spending for scholarship grants, which are provided to nearly half of current students.

Support student activities, clubs, service trips, and the Center for the Common Good.
Arts & Culture
