Sarah Chingos

Sarah directs the Bowdoin Public Service Initiative program. Launched in fall 2017, this programming provides opportunities both on-campus and in Washington, D.C. for students interested in serving the common good through government and public service.

Prior to joining the McKeen Center, Sarah spent 9 years in academic affairs as the Program Placement and Outreach Coordinator for Bowdoin's Education department, and nearly a decade in student affairs in the offices of Career Planning and Health Professions Advising. She spent her undergraduate years at American University in Washington D.C., and completed a master’s degree in education administration at Harvard University Graduate School of Education. In 2016, she was awarded the McKeen Center Staff Award for Commitment to Community for her work as a board member for the Brunswick Community Education Foundation. Outside of her work, she loves to travel, hike and spend time on McWain Pond with her husband and two teenage children.
