Affiliation: McKeen Center
Associate Director for Service and Leadership

Andrew oversees our co-curricular service programs, including Alternative Break trips, student volunteer groups, and annual service events such as Common Good Day. He also works with our Assistant Director, Matt Gee, on our youth and education programming and is the primary contact for students exploring community engagement opportunities and for community partners seeking to work with our students.

Andrew grew up in the Detroit area, earned a BA from Reed College in biology, and an MA from Emory University in Teaching. A former K-12 math and science teacher, he is passionate about using education to promote a more just and democratic society. He is especially interested in quantitative and media literacies, music as a historical medium, and reflective practices for teaching and learning.

In his free time Andrew likes to play music and get into nature with his wife Margaret Boyle, Associate Professor in Spanish, and family. He joined the McKeen Center in 2013.
