Barbara Sawhill

Lecturer in Spanish

Barbara returns to Bowdoin after having taught at Oberlin College (Oberlin OH) for almost 20 years. While there her research centered on language pedagogy, student-centered learning, language technology and learning, and the importance of teaching listening in the 2nd language classroom.  

In addition to her work in the classroom, Barbara works with the award winning Spanish language podcast Radio Ambulante as their Spanish Language Education Coordinator. Barbara supports language teachers around the globe who use RA in the language classroom to develop language proficiency as well as improved awareness of Latin American history, politics and culture.
