Visiting Assistant Professor of Government and Asian Studies
Aki Nakai is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Government and Asian Studies at Bowdoin College specializing in international relations, East Asian politics, and security studies. He has previously taught courses of international relations, international security, East Asian international relations, and Japanese foreign policy at Boston University, Tufts University, and the U.S. Naval War College. His research interests lie in the intersection of international security and East Asian politics. Hi is currently working on an article manuscript regarding the origins of U.S. alliances in East Asia and the lack of a multilateral military alliance in Northeast Asia.
