Fairy Trails

Story posted February 22, 2011

Last Friday, a group of four girls adventured to the Fairy Trails of Harpswell. Two in the group had never snow-shoed before, and were quickly enchanted by the new sport. “I’m floating!” they exclaimed. The girls kept their snowshoes on for about half of the loop-trail, and then opted to bare boots for the rest of the trip. It was a lovely sunny day and when the trail emerged on the coastline, the girls were rewarded with a lovely view of the Maine Ocean. After a snack of chocolate pretzels, the girls got back on the trail and soon crossed into the Fairy building zone. Unfortunately, the Fairy houses were covered with snow, but the girls each vowed to come back in the spring. It was a short and lovely trip and the girls made new friends, with each other and the Fairies that were undoubtedly accompanying them.

I’m floating!
