Assistant Professor of Government Mike Franz appeared on Al Jazeera's Min [From] Washington, on Monday, October 27, 2008.
Al Jazeera, the independent Middle Eastern television network headquartered in Doha, Qatar, broadcasts the current affairs talk show live from Washington every Monday to more than 42 million viewers around the world.
Franz, co-author of Campaign Advertising and American Democracy (Temple University Press, 2007), was invited to discuss the negative political ads running during the current presidential campaign.
He appeared as part of a panel of three political scientists that also included Stanford University professor Shanto Iyengar.
Min Washington, hosted by Al Jazeera Washington, D.C., Bureau Chief Abderrhaim Foukara, airs at 3:05 p.m.
Initially launched as an Arabic news and current affairs satellite TV channel with the same name, Al Jazeera has since expanded into a network with several outlets, including the Internet and specialty TV channels in multiple languages, and in several regions of the world.
