The Bowdoin College Museum of Art is featured twice in a special “Museums” section in the March 28, 2007, edition of The New York Times.
The article, “On College Campuses, a Crop of Galleries,” covers the current renovation and expansion project at the Museum and notes that it was prompted, in part, by a new curriculum that requires every student to take at least one visual or performing arts course. Read the article.
The Bowdoin College Museum of Art is also featured in a large sidebar piece that graphically displays expansion projects underway at museums across the country.
Museum Director Katy Kline and Dean of Academic Affairs Cristle Collins Judd are quoted on the subject of Bowdoin's commitment to arts and culture, and the article also mentions that the College has already opened a theater and is completing a recital hall.
The Museum is scheduled to re-open October 14, 2007. Read the story.
