Music at the Museum: Inspiring Women

For his latest round of Music at the Museum concerts, featuring live solo piano performances at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art, Beckwith Artist in Residence George Lopez has chosen works by a number of female composers.
His program was inspired by the exhibition "Among Women," which explores the artistic portrayal of women in the United States over the last three centuries. The show runs in the Museum's Boyd Gallery until April 7, 2019. Enjoy this excerpt of a piano sonata by eighteenth-century composer Maria Teresa Agnesi.
