Professor of Anthropology Scott MacEachern was featured on a panel of experts on Maine Public Radio’s daily call-in show Maine Calling on May 15, 2018, to discuss the importance of anthropology in our everyday lives.
As MacEachern explained to program host Jennifer Rooks, his work as an archaeologist is similar to that done by other anthropologists as they seek to answer questions about human behavior and culture. The essential difference however, he said, is that archaeologists look to the past to try to answer those questions.
With more than three decades of experience doing field work in sub-Saharan Africa, MacEachern recently published his latest book, Searching for Boko Haram: A History of Violence in Central Africa (Oxford University Press, 2018.)
