A ‘Proud’ Bowdoin Contingent Marches in DC

Working with Kate O’Grady from the Office of Alumni Relations, Mark Lenhart ’89 rounded up several Bowdoin alumni and their partners to join the Equality March for Unity and Pride in Washington DC on June 11.

Bowdoin Assistant Professor of Sociology Theo Greene also met up with the crew.

“A group of alumni representing many different classes (and wearing coveted Bowdoin rainbow T-shirts!) marched behind a Bowdoin banner in support of LGBTQ equality,” Lenhart wrote in an email. “We enjoyed getting to know fellow alumni, learning about our shared experiences, and finding inspiration in the March.” He added, “We’re grateful for Bowdoin’s support.”

Besides Lenhart and Greene, Bowdoin marchers included Christopher Wolf ’76, Peter Kester ’87, Bjorn D. Swenson ’00, Samantha D. Waxman ’10, and Jordan D. Lantz ’15.
