Students Join Portland Rally to Protest Trump's Immigration Order

Bowdoin students on Wednesday afternoon joined a protest against one of President Trump’s executive orders that temporarily restricts immigration from seven Muslim countries and suspends all new refugee resettlement in the US. The order bars all Syrian refugees indefinitely. Trump says the action will keep the nation safe from potential terrorists while he and his national security team determine how to strengthen vetting processes.

Several groups of students traveled to Portland to participate in a City Hall rally organized by Hamdia Ahmed, a 19-year-old sophomore at the University of Southern Maine.
