In conjunction with the many volunteer projects that took place on and around campus during the 18th Annual Common Good Day on September 17, more than 100 alumni, parents, and friends volunteered across the country.
Atlanta- Habitat for Humanity Atlanta
Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to build an affordable home for a family in southeast Atlanta.
Boston – Pine Street Inn
Volunteers were busy chopping vegetables, making sandwiches, and preparing meals for people in need.
Boston – Greater Boston Food Bank
Volunteers spent the day in the warehouse inspecting, sorting, and packing donated grocery products that are distributed to hunger relief agencies.
Denver- Denver Art Museum
Volunteers assisted the Learning and Engagement team prepare materials (cutting, folding, taping, wrapping) for gallery family activities.
Hartford – Elizabeth Park Conservancy
Volunteers tended to the gardens and grounds of Elizabeth Park.
New York City- Street Squash
Volunteers participated in academic and squash sessions with 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.
San Francisco- Tandem Partners in Early Learning
Volunteers assembled StoryBlocks; sets of wooden blocks depicting educational characters and letters. The blocks are used to reinforce storytelling and literacy skills through creative play in the classroom.
Washington, D.C.- H Street Main Street
Volunteers helped set up for the H Street Festival. The event, held annually on a Saturday in September, draws more than 50,000 festival-goers who enjoy great food, music, art, and camaraderie.
