This summer, thirty Bowdoin students received fellowships though the McKeen Center and Environmental Studies Program to intern with Maine-based nonprofits in a number of different areas, including coastal resiliency, food security, homelessness, economic development, and land conservation among other topics.

Ten students focused on social and civic issues; the others worked with environmental organizations.

Click through the slideshow below to learn more about the students’ work with such organizations as The Nature Conservancy, The Center for Grieving Children, Maine Migrant Health Program, Maine Center for Economic Policy, Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association, and others.
