With ever increasing student interest in community immersion and service programs like the McKeen Center's Pre-Orientation and Alternative Spring Break trips, the Center launched the weekend service trip program in the fall of 2009. This program offers students a unique opportunity to venture off campus for a few days, immerse themselves in a new community, engage in direct service, and learn about different areas of Maine.
Unless otherwise noted, trips have a $10 participation fee. Sign up is first come first serve. E-mail Jess Caron '13 to reserve your spot.

Friday, April 13 - Saturday, April 14

The Carpenter’s Boat Shop is an apprenticeship-school for people negotiating transitions in their lives. Spend the weekend learning about the organization and cutting a new trail from the Boat Shop through the woods. The group will leave Friday afternoon and return Saturday evening.
All of the weekend service trips are student initiated and student-led. The McKeen Center is always looking for trip participants and trip leaders. If you are interested in participating in or proposing a weekend service trip, please contact Jess Caron '13 for more information.
