My year abroad was more extraordinary than I could have ever imagined. Although I had reservations in the beginning about committing to leave Bowdoin for an entire year, leaving my friends, my A Capella group and my teammates on the lacrosse team, I would not trade my experience in Paris for anything. I became a new person in my linguistic abilities. I got to live with a Parisian family in the 7th arrondissement and look out my window every morning and see la Tour Eiffel and les Invalides. I learned a new way of life and a new way of thinking that has opened my mind and taught me more about myself. Between studying at the Sorbonne and having lunches with friends in the Luxembourg Garden, to traveling to Berlin, Istanbul, Budapest, Amsterdam, London, Rome, Barcelona, Athens & the islands, and all over France, I feel very fortunate to have had this opportunity that is so rare to come by in life and I hope to pursue adventures always. I have made life long friends in Paris that I will always value and hopefully visit! Everyone should study abroad. I've only heard people say they regret not going and taking the risk.
