Kathleen has been teaching for many years--since serving as an undergraduate language teaching fellow in college. Throughout graduate school and for seven years at Bowdoin, she taught courses in German language and literature. Retaining her focus on language and teaching, she founded the Bowdoin Writing Project in 1994 and serves as its director. She teaches a seminar for peer Writing Assistants, "Teaching Writing: Theory and Practice" (Education 251).
