Fall 2022 Service Plans

We are entering a busy fall semester, continuing to work our way back into something close to normal operations.

Catering

Dining Services' primary focus continues to be supporting student meal plans and major campus events. Staffing remains challenging and that is factoring into what services we can currently offer.

To help alleviate the pressure on Dining Services the following changes will apply for the fall.

  • Catering will be limited to the following official College events for the semester:
    • Events posted to the Bowdoin Academic Calendar
    • Endowed professorship dinners
    • Faculty meetings in Daggett Lounge
    • Faculty Seminar Series
    • Student Organization Affinity Month Programming
    • Alumni Relations programs
    • Symposia
  • There will be limited catered services available for department meetings, committee meetings, social gatherings, department-sponsored student life programming, faculty workshops, professional development trainings, department retreats, varsity sports team meetings, etc.
  • We encourage departments looking for coffee service to consider ordering a “Box of Joe” from The Café in Smith Union.

Currently, interdepartmental budget amounts for catering are set at $0 for all departments. If departments purchase food and beverages from outside vendors, these purchases are expected to be managed within existing core operating budgets.

Dining Facilities Information

  • Through the line breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be available to faculty and staff at Moulton and Thorne dining halls. Private dining rooms may also be available—please contact the campus scheduler for more information.   
  • Jack Magee’s Grill will be open the following hours:
    • Monday–Friday 11:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
    • Sunday–Thursday 4:30 p.m.–8:00 p.m.
  • Fast Track: Monday – Friday 11:15 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
