Andrew Szwez ’26: Business Development Intern at Maneup
By Andrew Szwez ’26
Maneup is a science-backed hair wellness startup that develops copper peptide–based hair regrowth products as safe and effective alternatives to outdated treatments.
During my internship at Maneup, I developed the company's investor pitch deck, built financial models, and conducted customer retention analysis. I also planned a fundraising strategy and researched the competitive landscape, helping position the brand for growth and investor readiness.
I learned that investors don't just care about numbers; they care about the story behind them. I saw the importance of disciplined capital allocation and gained perspective on how valuations, dilution, and competition shape fundraising. This experience also helped me grow more confident in my ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
Conducting market research and financial analysis showed me how much I enjoy solving complex business problems. This experience confirmed my interest in consulting for CPG brands. It gave me the chance to work at the intersection of finance, strategy, and creativity, to contribute to a company's growth story.
