Evan Brown '22




Maia Coleman '20

Maia is a senior from New York City majoring in English and Francophone Studies. She enjoys working with students to organize their ideas and fine-tune their writing. Outside of the Writing Project, Maia is a member of the Bowdoin Orient and enjoys drawing, reading and cooking. She is looking forward to working as a Writing Assistant this year.

Diego Grossmann '20

Diego is a senior majoring in Romance Languages & Literatures and minoring in English. His hometown is Holden, Maine, where his family emigrated to from Caracas, Venezuela. As a writing assistant, he looks forward to learning from his peers through exposure to their writing, ideas, and different fields of interest. Outside the Writing Project, he also works for the Latin American Studies Program, is a founding member of the Bowdoin Labor Alliance, and enjoys working on management for WBOR, where he showcases new global music on a weekly basis as World Music Director.

Marina Henke '20

Marina is a senior from St. Louis, Missouri majoring in Environmental Studies and Africana Studies. She loves how working as a Writing Assistant allows her to read work from so many different courses at Bowdoin. Elsewhere on campus, she helps lead the mentoring group FFLY at Bath Middle School.




Joseph Hilleary '20 - Head Writing Assistant

Joe was born and raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and is majoring in Math and minoring in History here at Bowdoin. In addition to working with the Writing Project, Joe can be found hanging around Memorial Hall doing technical theater for Masque and Gown and the Bowdoin Theater and Dance Department. He is also one of the programming chairs for Howell House and loves to swing dance with Polar Bear Swing.

Julianna Kiley '20

Julianna (Jules) is a senior from Boston, MA, majoring in English and Education with a minor in Hispanic Studies. She loves talking through ideas with people in order to help them focus their writing. Outside of the Writing Project, Jules is a member of the swim team and teaches swim lessons to Brunswick community members. She also volunteers with Maine College Circle, a local education non-profit. She enjoys traveling and eating ice cream!


Rohini Kurup '20

Rohini is a senior from Greenwich, Connecticut majoring in Government and Legal Studies and minoring in History. Outside of the Writing Project, she is involved with the Bowdoin Orient and the South Asian Students Association. Rohini is excited to work with students at any stage of the writing process to help develop their ideas and improve their writing.

Chanel is a junior from Wellesley, Massachusetts majoring in Africana Studies with a Theater minor. Outside of the Writing Project, she mentors with the Geoffrey Canada Scholars program as well as with FFLY (Friends Fostering Leadership in Youth) and is a member of the Women of Color Coalition. She loves meeting other students at the CLT and looks forward to working with them to develop confidence in their writing!

Francesca is a sophomore from Kansas City, Missouri and plans to major in Romance Language and Literature and minor in Art History.

Audrey Muscato '20

Audrey is a senior from Dover, New Hampshire. She is majoring in Neuroscience and plans to pursue a career in research after graduation. Audrey enjoys exploring Maine in all seasons from skiing in the winter to beach trips in the warmer weather. She is excited to work as a Writing Assistant and help her peers put their thoughts on paper.

Ilana is a senior from Wilton, Connecticut. She is majoring in Biochemistry with a minor in Philosophy. Ilana volunteers at Oasis Free Clinics and enjoys exploring Maine. She is grateful for the opportunity to help other students on campus and is eager to assist at any stage of the writing process.


Harrison Pellerin '20

Harrison is a senior majoring in History with an Econ minor, from Hebron, Connecticut. He enjoys helping students improve their clarity and focus in writing. Outside of the Writing Project, he provides feedback to incarcerated students through the College Guild and plays Lock for the Bowdoin Men’s Rugby team.

Julia Perillo is from Weston, Florida and intends to major in Romance Languages & Literatures. She is also interested in Art History, Cinema Studies, and Education. She is the Co-President of Bowdoin Film Society and a member of Latin American Students Organization (LASO).



Tessa Peterson '20

Tessa is a senior from Nederland, Colorado. She is majoring in Earth & Oceanographic Sciences as well as Francophone Studies, and she is still trying to figure out how to combine these disparate interests. Tessa enjoys the Writing Workshop because she gets to meet many new people and learn about unfamiliar disciplines by reading her peers' work.

Tom is a senior Chemistry and English major from Manchester, NH. He is excited to help draft and revise anything from lab reports to literary analyses. Outside of the Writing Project, he is an editor of The Quill. In his free time, Tom enjoys collecting books and vinyl records.

Ellie is a senior majoring in English and minoring in Anthropology; she hails from Falmouth, Maine. At Bowdoin, she is a House Chair for Howell House, an enthusiastic member of the Polar Bear Swing Dance Club, and a Bowdoin tour guide. She is looking forward to helping people brainstorm and organize their ideas in their writing.
