Celebrating Independence! Fifty Years of Spindleworks, 1976–2026
Established fifty years ago, Spindleworks Art Center, based in Brunswick, Maine, is a nationally recognized progressive art studio that has become a vibrant part of the local community. This exhibition celebrates the vision of the artists whose work in a broad range of creative practices.

Josefina Auslender: Drawing Myself Free
This exhibition is the first-ever museum retrospective of drawings by Josefina Auslender, whose work in graphite, colored pencil, and ink spans decades and continents. “Josefina Auslender” features more than 100 drawings created in Argentina and the United States that collectively reflect her enduring interest in building new worlds through the visual languages of abstraction and Surrealism.

Bowdoin College Museum of Art news

Anne Collins Goodyear and Frank Goodyear, co-directors of the Bowdoin College Museum of Art since 2013, will step down on June 30, 2026. Over their thirteen-year tenure, the Goodyears strengthened the Museum's role as both an academic resource and a public-facing institution in midcoast Maine.

Publication Preview: "Josefina Auslender: Drawing Myself Free"

Published in conjunction with the retrospective exhibition Josefina Auslender: Drawing Myself Free, on view at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art (BCMA) from December 11, 2025–May 31, 2026, this eponymous book offers the first comprehensive survey of work by the Argentine-born artist Josefina Auslender.
