Betty Pinette
I like doing any kind of art. It helps me. Helps me to know how to do it. I do it ‘cause I like to. I sell big paintings. I like working here. I don't want to work at Shop and Save. I don't want to get bored. Cause I have enough to do. I keep working. I like to meet new artists."
Betty Ann Cole Pinette was a prolific artist and part of the original cohort of six at Spindleworks. She loved to draw. She worked primarily in pastel, watercolor, gouache, pencil and acrylic. She created a large body of work on paper and canvas with imagery encompassing landscapes, animals, nudes, large flowers and figures. She readily shared her ideas with a frank voice and laugh. Her writing and poems were part of the first two Spindleworks poetry anthologies in 1991 and 1996.
