Mona was a hard-working, quiet artist with a sense of humor readily shared among her artist friends. She painted with bold form and bright colors using watercolor and pen.  Her imagery included landscapes, figures and animals. In addition to painting, she was a writer, print maker and fiber artist. Her stylistic approach to wool embroidery depicting people and buildings had a large following. She was represented by a Boston Gallery.
