Finnegan Woodruff, Bowdoin Class of 2021

ANNOUNCEMENT

Memorial Service Date Change

Due to the forecast of inclement weather, the memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 12.
December 2, 2021

To the campus community,

The College is assisting the Woodruff family with arrangements for a gathering off campus to celebrate the life of Finn Woodruff ’21, who died in a kayaking accident in Washington state on November 17.

The memorial service, which we expected might take place after the holidays, will be held outdoors on Saturday, December 11, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Crystal Spring Farm (277 Pleasant Hill Road) in Brunswick. If weather conditions make it impractical to conduct the service on Saturday, it will be moved to the following day, Sunday, December 12, at the same time.

Crystal Spring Farm is located less than three miles from campus, but there is very limited parking available. Guests are encouraged to walk to the site, weather permitting, or to use shuttle buses provided by the College that will leave beginning at noon from campus and also from Brunswick High School to accommodate the many people in Brunswick who knew and loved Finn. Shuttle details will be posted here on the Bowdoin website as soon as they are available. A tent and limited seating will be provided; guests should dress warmly and recognize that they may be standing at the service. At the request of the family, the service will NOT be livestreamed.

In the coming days, as we remember and celebrate the lives of both Finn and Theo Danzig ’22, please continue to take advantage of the support resources available through Counseling and Wellness Services and the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and please care for and stay connected to one another.

Sincerely,

Clayton
