The Department of Computer Science at Bowdoin College invites applications for a one-year full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position, to begin July 1, 2015. The teaching load is two courses per semester. We especially welcome applications from candidates with expertise in bioinformatics, graphics and visualization, machine learning, security, computer architecture, databases, or high performance computing. The successful candidate will demonstrate a capacity for excellence in teaching, active engagement in research, and a commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education. Bowdoin is building an environment in which students and faculty from across all disciplines can employ computational approaches to enrich their work; we welcome applications from candidates who can benefit from and contribute to this effort. Requirements for Ph.D. expected to have been completed at the time of appointment.
