Making Prediction in an Uncertain World
Environmental Structure and Cognitive Maps
Read the second half of the paper. The critical

A Pattern Language: Ch. 53, Main Gateways
This selection from the seminal book A Pattern
Language served as one of the key inspirations
for the gateway construct. Alexander's vision was

functioning and that design should proceed with that
in mind. This book is packed with insights into
this idea. As you read this selection, try to think
in terms of abstract environments, not just
architectural environments.
