Parasaurolophus walkeri
Parasaurolophus walkeri, although small compared to the other North American hadrosaurs, is nonetheless a fascinating creature. The crest on its head, a greatly enlarged sinus, functions as a resonating chamber for the booming calls of this species. These whale-like calls are used during the mating ritual of this species and also to help members of the same herd locate each other in dense forest.
