Lakota Iguana Tooth
Iguanodon lakotaensis
(Weishampel & Bjork, 1989)

Iguanodon lakotaensis is smaller and more lightly built then the other members of the genus Iguanodon.  Its head is short-muzzled, with a smaller chewing surface and larger eyes then the head of the robust Iguanodon bernissartensis These adaptations allow I. lakotaensis to feed on different plants from the other species of its genus, and so it avoids competition.
