Women's Resource Center

Women's Resource Center building

Mission

The Bowdoin College Women's Resource Center (WRC) supports and enhances the academic, personal, and extracurricular development of women at Bowdoin, and builds awareness of gender issues existing on campus and in society.

The Director and the Student Directors collaborate with students, faculty and staff from across campus to offer diverse, relevant programming for Bowdoin community members of all genders and orientations. Some of our past and ongoing programs include: Women’s swim lessons, Leadership Luncheon, Wild Women Adventures, Celebrating Women Celebrating Bodies photo exhibit, and film screenings.

Location

The Women’s Resource Center is located at 24 College Street, located at the corner of College Street and Coffin Street. It is the grey house next to Ladd house. Other offices housed in this building include: The Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity (RCSGD), Health Education, and the Associate Director of Student Affairs.

Space

The livingroom and the kitchen in the WRC are available for student and staff use. The livingroom can comfortably hold 15-20 people. To reserve the space, please contact Melissa Quinby at mquinby@bowdoin.edu or sign up on the calendar hanging outside the living room.

All genders and sexualities are welcome at the Women’s Resource Center
