Visual Arts

Courses in the Visual Arts explore a variety of media and thematic perspectives in traditional and contemporary art making with a focus on their contribution to the community and culture and the ways they can raise self-awareness. As a vital component of a fully realized liberal arts education, visual arts at Bowdoin can provide our students with a greater capacity for creative engagement, intellectual flexibility and critical thinking, regardless of the path they choose to follow after college.
