Statement:
New Orleans (ongoing):
New Orleans Rebuilds is a work-in-progress tracking the transformation of New Orleans post-Katrina. The flooding experienced there due to the failure of levees immediately adjacent to residential areas leveled vast areas of the city. These photographs result from three visits in November 2005, March 2006, and November 2006. Another trip in November 2007 is planned in order to chronicle further the renewal of the city. (August 2007)

Titles as indicated on photo - multiple image panoramics are ultrachrome pigment prints varying in size from 24"x20" to 24"x78", panoramic single images are gelatin silver 8"x22"

Statement:
Safety Envelopes (2007):
These photographs use the patterns inside safety envelopes as a starting point to explore a realm that straddles the real and imaginary. Photographed conventionally and then altered extensively digitally, the photographs invite viewers to look for the patterns inside the envelopes that arrive each day in their mail and to consider the assumptions we form about the real and the imagined in viewing photographs. Images are 20"x24" ultrachrome pigment prints.

Statement:
The Daily Post (ongoing):
The Daily Post is a web-based collection of photographs that grows by one entry each day, as its name suggests. The project began on March 27, 2002, and has no scheduled end date. With few exceptions each photograph is posted on the day it is made.

"Heraclitus says somewhere that all things pass and naught abides; comparing things to the current of a river, he says you cannot step twice into the same stream." - Plato

Aristotle says the same thing, "All things are in motion," "nothing steadfastly is."
