Artist Statement

These images are from a work-in-progress tracking the transformation of New Orleans post-Katrina. The flooding experienced there due to the failure of levees immediately adjacent to residential areas leveled vast areas of the city. Having made two visits so far, in November 2005 and March 2006, I will continue to return to re-photograph these same places and chronicle how they are reoccupied. Almost a year since Katrina, the fate of these places, as indicators of the fate of those that used to live there, remains a mystery. (July 2006)

Titles as indicated on photo - triptychs are pigment prints 24"x20" each image, panoramic single images are gelatin silver 8"x22"
