Angela Adams on Design Lecture

Angela Adams speaks about design and developing a lifestyle brand. In conjunction with the Frank Lloyd Wright exhibition at the Portland Museum of Art, Adams will share the story of how she and husband Sherwood Hamill have partnered to become leaders in contemporary design. The Angela Adams brand offers a wide range of products such as rugs, furniture, handbags, fabric, ceramic tiles, stationary, glassware and bedding. Organic, colorful patterns and an innovative approach defines the Angela Adams style. Reception after the lecture in the Glass Galleries.

Three American Architects: Richardson, Sullivan, and Wright
James F. O'Gorman, acclaimed author, lecturer, historian, and professor emeritus at Wellesley College, will discuss the individual and collective achievements of the recognized trinity American architecture: Henry Hobson Richardson (1838-86), Louis Sullivan (1856-1924), and Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959). Copies of Dr. James F. O'Gorman's book about these three giants among architects will be available on the day of the lecture.

Guest Artist Ben Butler '00
7 pm in Beam Classroom
Ben Butler is a sculptor living and working in New York. In addition to the work itself, Ben's talk should be of special interest as a former Bowdoin student who has gone on to grad school and a successful career in the visual arts. Three of Ben's large-scale pieces are on view at Coleman Burke Gallery, located in Fort Andross in downtown Brunswick--next door to Frontier Cafe.
Gallery hours are 12-4 Monday-Saturday, and the show runs through this coming Saturday.
