In 2007 Cotton recieved a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship, which allowed her to explore a long standing, personal inquiry about the social role of architecture. Over one year she visited many post-industrial cities, investigating the processes of appropriation and adaption of abandoned industrial buildings. more »
Shaun El C. Leonardo '01
Received his Masters of Fine Arts from the Painting Department at the San Francisco Art Institute and currently lives/works in New York City. He has participated in residencies at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, The New York Studio School and The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. El C.'s work has been shown in Barcelona, San Francisco and Dallas with current exhibitions in New York City. Michael Zachary '02
has had work in group shows at the Center for Maine Contemporary Art, Contemporary Artists' Center (North Adams, MA), and the Boston Center for the Arts. This summer a solo show of works on paper will be on view at SPACE in Portland. He has held a residency at the Vermont Studio Center and participated in The Drawing Center's viewing program.
Wade Kavanaugh '01
is a sculptor currently residing in Brooklyn, NY. In addition to several group shows in New York City, he has work in an upcoming exhibition at the Bronx Museum of Art in June, 2005 and is involved in a collaborative project at The Maproom in Portland, ME in May. He has also received a residency grant from the Franconia Sculpture Park in Minnesota for this summer. wadekavanaugh.info »
Ben Butler '00
received his M.F.A. from the sculpture department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In addition to his exhibitions in both New York and Chicago, he has had two outdoor public projects at the University of West Alabama, and the Evanston Art Center. Butler has held residencies at the MacDowell Colony, Plane Space, Dorland Mountain Arts Colony, Vermont Studio Center, and Ucross Foundation. He is represented by Zg Gallery in Chicago and Plane Space in New York.

Cassie Jones '01
Following her graduation in 2001, Cassie Jones was a co-founder of Wethli Durrie Jones, a public art and mural painting partnership that she established with Bowdoin classmate Kyle Durrie '01 and Bowdoin Professor of Art Mark Wethli. In addition to her work with Wethli Durrie Jones on major mural commissions for Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick and the Maine Department of Transportation Office Building in Augusta (a Maine Arts Commission Percent for Art Project), Jones has had work included in the 2002 and 2004 Juried Biennial at the Center for Maine Contemporary Art and the 2003 and 2005 Portland Museum of Art Juried Biennial, among others. Jamey Morrill '92 is a sculptor who received his MFA from Indiana University, Bloomington in 2002. He lives in Providence and teaches as an adjunct at Rhode Island College. "Strip Mining the Profound: An Artist's Slide Lecture by Sculptor Jamey Morrill" is the talk he gave at Bowdoin College in September 2004.
