Benje Douglas, Director of Title IX and Compliance

Benje connects students to resources available on campus and in the community surrounding instances of sexual misconduct, gender based violence, and Title IX compliance. Benje serves as the College's Title IX Coordinator. His responsibilities include:

  • explaining the processes available through Bowdoin's Sexual Misconduct and Title IX policies
  • supporting the Complainant and Respondent of an investigation in equal measure
  • helping students navigate the law enforcement process

Benje joined Bowdoin in July of 2014 following a career in a variety of violence prevention and response programs including a domestic violence shelter, rape crisis center, and a national resource center. His office is located in Dudley Coe, room 119.

Lisa Peterson '07, Associate Director of Gender Violence Prevention and Education

In her role as Associate Director of Gender Violence Prevention and Education, Lisa supports the many and varied violence prevention and response student organizations on campus. These groups include:

  • bHeRe (Bowdoin Healthy Relationships)
  • V-Space
  • fEMPOWER
  • BMASV (Bowdoin Men Against Sexual Violence)
  • The Sex Project
  • Safe Space 

Lisa returned to Bowdoin in September of 2015 continuing her career in violence prevention after working for several years doing the work in community and governmental programs. Her office is located in Dudley Coe, room 118.
