With music ranging from Puccini to Piazzolla, repertory courses play with the shape and formalities of social relationships—while composition students expose choreographic devices, scores, and sources through short studies and improvisations. This season’s concert features a duet choreographed by returning alumna, Natalie Johnson (‘13), performed by guest artists Anna Hulse and Justine Lee, and danced to an original commissioned score by Norberto Oldrini.  Lighting is by Bowdoin alumnus, Tyler Micoleau (‘91), a two-time Village Voice OBIE Award winner, who has designed lighting for opera, dance, and theater across the country, as well as in New York at venues such as Lincoln Center Theater and the Public Theater.

The Association of Bowdoin Friends will host a closing night reception, following the April 18 performance. The Spring Dance Concert is produced with support from the Alice Cooper Morse Fund for the Performing Arts and the June Vail Fund for Dance. Pickard Theater is located in Memorial Hall, on the corner of Bath Road and Maine Street.

Open to the public, free of charge.

FREE TICKETS. Tickets available at the Smith Union information desk beginning April 1 (207-725-3375). Tickets will also be available at the door. Patrons should plan to be seated by 7:45 pm.
