Masque and Gown Presents The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde in Pickard Theater on February 27, 28, and March 1 at 8 pm. Wilde uses this show, subtitled "A Trivial Comedy for Serious People," to showcase the Victorian views of marriage and self-image in an entirely humorous way. A group of people, young and old, stumble around innocent love and the little lies we tell when we need our privacy. Sometimes, however, those little lies get entirely out of control! Earnest is both a satire of Victorian culture and a farcical smorgasbord of quips, misunderstandings, and whimsical charm.
