Education

I earned a B.S. in Sociology from Bowdoin in 2000 where I was two time captain of the Bowdoin Men’s Basketball team. I completed my studies and earned a Juris Doctorate Degree at the University of Maine School of Law in 2006.

Background

I grew up in a low income working class community in Jacksonville, where I graduated from Nathan Bedford Forrest High School (a real hero of the Confederacy). I was the last of 10 children. In 1989, I entered the U.S. Navy and served 7 years of active duty and continue to serve as a Naval Reservist. I started working at Bowdoin upon my graduation from the college. I began as the Coordinator of Multicultural Student Programs and Posse Mentor before moving on to law school. I am the proud father of Olivia who is eleven years old, and I have what some may consider a very unhealthy relationship with the sport of basketball, highlighted by coaching a local girls high school basketball team.
