BS in Biology from the University of Southern Maine; and an MS in Adult/Higher Education from USM.
I come from a large family and grew up in Massachusetts. After graduating from college in Maine, Title IX was passed and my passion for sports let me to organize and play on several inaugural women’s sports teams in southern Maine— teams I administered and played on for years. During this time I worked in the hotel-restaurant management field overseeing five New England properties. After starting a family, I changed careers and designed and developed active sports apparel for L.L. Bean, Inc. In 1994, I began coaching the women’s rugby team at Bowdoin with my husband, Bob, and after working in the Career Planning Center, earned by Masters in 2007. I am an avid runner, cyclist and mountain climber. I love spending time with our two daughters, traveling or just hanging out with them. My favorite places include the Maine coast, the White Mtns, China, France, Tuscany, and Hawaii. I am fascinated by the cultural and personal differences between people, and the common bonds we all share.
