Location: Bowdoin / Office of the Dean of Student Affairs / Resources for International Students

Welcome

Dear international student:

Welcome to Bowdoin!  We hope that you will soon obtain your student visa and begin the exciting preparations for coming to Maine.  Be sure to consult the Orientation website for important information related to getting here, what to bring, and forms to submit.  Since many of you will be coming from a great distance, it will make more sense for you to pack less and buy things like hangers and pillows after your arrival.  I encourage you to sign up for the Host Family Program, which will match you with a local family that can help you get settled and provide a supportive “home away from home” while you are here.

This web page provides some relevant links for you as an international student.  There will be many people to help you after you arrive to adjust to a new place and culture.  Do not hesitate to be in touch with me with any questions, concerns, or problems.

Please plan to attend a special International Student Orientation on Saturday, September 5, 2009 so you can connect with each other and upper-class international students.

See you in August!

Sincerely,

Dean Laura Lee
Assistant Dean of Student Affairs/International Student Advisor
