Safety Tips

  • Lock your door when you leave your office or room. Even if it is only for a minute.
  • Secure exterior windows if they are accessible from the outside.
  • Do not leave valuables unattended or in plain site.
  • Report suspicious activity or people to security immediately.
  • Do not walk alone after dark.
  • Call Security for escorts if you are walking alone.
  • If you must walk alone be aware of your surroundings and use well lighted walkways.
  • Do not wear headphones or other items that impair your senses when walking alone.
  • Do not prop doors. You are jeopardizing everyone's safety if you do.
  • Many of our thefts occur in the public locker rooms around campus. Please lock all of your personal items in a locker any time that you are going to leave them unattended.
  • Please remember that security is everyone's responsibility and with your help Bowdoin can be a secure and safe place to live and work
