Terry Elwell

Terry Elwell Camera PhotoTerry Elwell, 33, of Brunswick has been released from the Maine State Prison and is now again living in Brunswick.  Elwell has an extensive criminal history.  He is familiar with the Bowdoin campus and was arrested for burglary and theft at Brunswick Apartments in 1999. 

Elwell was identified several times trespassing inside campus residences in 1999 and 2000, including Brunswick Apartments, Helmreich House and Quinby House.  In 2004, Elwell was suspected of entering a room at Stowe Inn.

UPDATE:  This security camera image of Elwell (upper left) was taken on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at 11:00 p.m. in the basement level of Hawthorne-Longfellow Library.  Elwell is pictured removing a dark blue knit cap from his head.  Elwell was also seen on security Terry Elwell Photocameras that same evening at Hatch Library and Druckenmiller Hall.  At Hatch, Elwell was spotted looking through a student's back pack.  Nothing was stolen.  Elwell was accompanied by Rachael Simmons, 25, of Augusta who was waiting nearby in a tan Oldsmobile Alero, ME reg. 8261PS.  Bowdoin Security detained Elwell and Brunswick Police issued him a criminal trespass warning, banning him from all Bowdoin property.
